    • Issuing title insurance policies required by lenders (and commonly requested by buyers)
    • Working with the lender and the other party’s attorney to resolve any title defects, and
    • Representation at closing.

In recent years real estate transactions involving foreclosed properties have increased significantly. Our attorneys have the expertise to handle the unique challenges presented by buying or selling distressed properties.

Hale & Hamlin is an approved agent for First American Title Insurance, which is the largest title insurer in Maine.  We work closely with First American to not only issue you a title policy commitment, but to represent you with any policy claim that may arise.
